We are sad to announce the passing of Salvatore P. Cairo of Port Charlotte, FL. He passed on March 21,2023 at the age of 79. Sal took his last breaths with his wife and his son by his side after battleling Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Sal was born on May 17,1943 in Trenton, N.J.
He was among the graduating class of 1961 at Steinert High School. He served in the Navy aboard an ammunition ship during the Cuban Blockade. Sal was a VP of Sales for Moet- Hennessy before retiring in 1999.
Sal was an avid sports fan, as well as always being involved with his son and grandsons sports teams. At the age of 62 after the loss of his daughter Jill he dedicated himself to raising her 2 1/2 year old son, who he later adopted. He selflessly worked odd jobs, delivering newspapers, delivering cars for Nissan, and driving a school bus where all the kids called him Poppy. Sal did all this for his family. He loved his family, and was famous for his lasagna, his meatballs and gravy as well as his sausage and peppers. Sal loved entertaining and threw the best parties.
Sal is predeceased by his parents Louis A. and Elizabeth (Tancreda) Cairo, his sister Francine (Cairo) Ellingham and his loving daughter Jill R. Cairo.
Sal leaves behind his devoted wife of 43 years Theresa (Larvey) Cairo Fl. as well as his loving daughter Joann D. Colon' and her long term partner James Smith of N.J. his loving daughter Gina M.Cairo of TX. his loving son Louis A. Cairo of Ma. his loving son (grandson) Liam J. Cairo Hennessey of FL and his daughter Lisa A. Brennan of CA. Sal is also survived by his 5 amazing grandchildren and 2 beautiful great grandchildren, as well lots of family, especially his many cherished cousins.
A celebration of his life is planned for a later date.
