Robert L. Beaver, born on May 21, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away on June 28, 2024, in Port Charlotte, Florida, leaving a legacy of courage, spirit, and kindness. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Palmer-Beaver; his children, Robert Palmer and Christine (John) Crenshaw; and his siblings, Mary Morrison, Katy Jones, Anita Bergen, and Lee Beaver. Robert's life was marked by dedication and service, values that were reflected in every aspect of his life journey.
He proudly served his country as a Navy Seabee, a title he carried with utmost pride throughout his life. Robert's time in the Navy not only shaped his character but also laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to serving others. After his service in the Vietnam War, he returned to his hometown, where he continued to protect and serve as a Police Officer in Columbus, Ohio, for a number of years. His unwavering dedication to his community earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and those he protected.
Robert's personal interests provided a well-deserved respite from his professional responsibilities. He took great pleasure in watching old western and war movies, a testament to his love for stories of bravery and resolve. Equally, he found enjoyment in playing games on his computer, which kept him engaged and sharp. His love for adventure and exploration was fulfilled through going on cruises, an activity he cherished as an opportunity to relax and see the world. He will be missed.
Cremation has taken place per his wishes.
