Philip L. Sanders, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Tarpon Springs, FL, passed away July 11, 2012 in Port Charlotte, FL. He was the owner of the Downtown Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant and a veteran of WW II. He is survived by his wife Sophie of Punta Gorda, FL, sons Jerry (Sheri) of Port Charlotte FL, John (Sherry) of Athens, OH, Larry of Charlotte, MI, and sister Ruby McConkie of Mt. Pleasant, MI. Arrangements by Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home in Port Charlotte, FL and interment will be at the Sarasota Florida National Cemetery.
