Lyndon Pritchard was born on July 22, 1925, in Limón, Costa Rica. He was the sixth child of Harold and Lenora Pritchard. He was raised and educated in Costa Rica, and later immigrated to Panamá. He worked for 43 years for the US Navy Public Works Department in Rodman, Canal Zone and retired as a Realty Specialist.
He was a devout Methodist but joined the Episcopal Church when he united with his wife. He loved the Lord, and he devoted his entire life working for the Church. As a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, he served as the Senior Warden, vestry member and member of the Ushers Guild. He also gave unselfishly of his time to help his community and was the former president of the Parque Lefevre Lions Club in Panamá, Republic of Panamá.
Upon retirement, both Lyndon and his wife Lydia relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida. He was a prominent member of St. James Episcopal Church where he served as a member of the Ushers Guild, the Brotherhood of St. Andrews, and the cursillo group. He was a member and former president of the Port Charlotte Lions Club, where he was instrumental in collecting eyeglasses and assisting his wife in getting hearing aids for the needy in the community.
He loved to dance and his skill on the dance floor was a joy to behold. He taught quadrille when he lived in Panamá. He also enjoyed traveling, reading the newspaper and keeping up to date with the latest political affairs.
Lyndon Prichard was a man filled with love and he lived his life with purpose. Many of his family and friends called him Don or Tio Don. His wife called him Daddy.
He loved the Lord. He loved his family, his church family, his friends and his community. Whenever there was an opportunity to serve and assist – he was always willing and gracious. His heart was big and generous. His smile will always warm our hearts because we could always feel his love.
He was called home on Monday, January 18, 2021 in the comfort of his home in Port Charlotte, Florida where he resided with his wife for the past 26 years after a short illness. Left to mourn him are his devoted wife Lydia Pritchard of 62 years; three children: Claudio Pritchard, of Port Charlotte, FL, Ivette Franklin (spouse Rodolfo), of Atlanta, GA and Lysette Reeves (spouse Kenneth Sr.) of North Richland Hills, TX; three grandchildren: Kenneth II, Moriah Reeves and Delilah Franklin; nephews: Stanley Moore (spouse Elaine), and Larry Moore (spouse Jane); nieces: Ledda Benneth (spouse Reverend Bertram), Estella Fields (spouse Ernesto), Rosalia Beckett, and many other relatives and friends in the US and Panamá.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lenora Pritchard; two brothers, Lloyd and Jimmy Pritchard, and three sisters, Sylvia Rosales, Hazel Pritchard, and his forever bonded twin sister Lenett Moore.
