

Joan Marie Clapper, age 82, of North Port, Florida went to be with her LORD on November 6, 2023. She was the beloved widow of the late Norman Blaine Clapper. They shared 17 years of loving marriage together.
Born on July 14, 1941 in Washington D.C., Joan was the daughter of Henry and Delia Wathen. She is survived by three children and their spouses: daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and David Winchester, her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Ann Regacho, and her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Art Reiger, six grandchildren: Allison Porter, Rebecca Porter, Joan Sanchez, Grace Winchester, Kelly Regacho, and Rocco Regacho, and Frank Regacho, first husband and father of the children, as well as other nieces, nephews, friends, and acquaintances.
Joan retired from the U.S Department of Air Force as a Civilian Budget Analyst at Andrew’s Airforce Base in Clinton, Maryland in 2002. She was a member and former President of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #259 in Clinton, Maryland, a member of Bethel Mariners Methodist Church in Ocean View, Delaware, and Murdock Baptist Church in Port Charlotte, Florida. She enjoyed dancing, singing, cooking, baking, serving in the church kitchen, attending her senior center, and spending time with her family and friends.
