Hazel K. Stewart, 88, of Pt Charlotte, FL passed away August 18, 2010. She was born May 27, 1922 in Amity, Maine and moved to this area in 1977 from Springfield, Mass. Before retiring, she had worked as a Sales Clerk at the Steiger's Dept Store in Springfield for many years. Locally, she was a member of the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge and the American Legion Post 110.
She is survived by her daughter, Norma McCarthy of Pt Charlotte; grandchildren, Michael Fountain, Linda Woody, Donna Martinez and Lori Fountain; great grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Shelly, Elizabeth and Cheryl; sisters, Helen Dwyer and Myrtle Cormie and sister-in-law, Mae Stewart. She was pre deceased by her husband Robert Stewart 17 years ago in 1993.
A Memorial Service will be held privately with scattering at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens. The family requests donations in memory of Hazel be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238.
