

Edward Kevin Regan of Punta Gorda, FL passed away peacefully with Dolly Regan, his beloved wife of 49 years, Edward "Butch" Regan, Jr., his son, Catherine Ally, his daughter and Madeline Alford, his sister, by his side on September 14, 2023. A Punta Gorda resident for 27 years, he proudly served 22 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer, and 17 years in the civil service. He was a military aviation enthusiast, an expert do-it-yourself handyman and an avid baseball fan who loved watching his Boston Red Sox spring training games. He loved spending time with his family, grand kids and great grandkids and his dog "Suzie".
Born on June 15, 1939 to the late Edward J. (O'Leary) and Mary E. (White) Regan in New York, New York, he is survived by his wife Dolly; his four daughters, Catherine (Regan) and Shazaad Ally of Chevy Chase MD, Erlinda and Melvin Sundita of Fremont CA, Emilie Regan of Punta Gorda FL and Elaine (Regan) McWilliams of Canada; his 3 sons, John and Taunia Regan of VA Beach VA, Edward Regan Jr. and Sandie Wray of Burlington DE, and Kevin and Pam Regan of Moraine OH; brother of Jerry and Jane Regan of North Reading MA, Madeline Alford and Ed Brown of Tampa Bay FL, and the late Gayle L. (Regan) and Hank Burke of North Reading MA; Brian and Rick Regan of Dorchester MA and Joyce and Joshua Garcia of New Mexico. Devoted grandfather to 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous lifelong friends and his faithful lab Suzie.
A visitation for Edward will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
