DAVID R. (RAY) WILLIAMS, 81 of Englewood passed away on March 22, 2015. Ray was born in Bradenton, FL on March 22, 1934 and has lived in Englewood for 53 years. Ray was a co-owner of Lemon Bay Funeral Homes and Gulf Pines Memorial Park, until he retired in 1989. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Aldredge Williams, sister Jane Williams Mimier, sons Thomas (Pam), Ray Jr. (David), daughter, Carla Stiver (Bill), son in-law, Michael Haucke, 16 grandchildren & 26 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by daughter Theresa Williams Haucke.
Ray was a founding member of Englewood Elks Lodge #2378, a member of the Englewood Masonic Lodge, and a Shriner with the Sahib Temple in Sarasota. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday March 26, 5:00-7:00 PM at Lemon Bay Funeral Home, with a celebration of life service to begin at 6:30.
