Roy, as he was affectionately known, was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He enjoyed all things Cleveland and was an avid Ohio State fan. He was a graduate of St. Michael High School, proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam era and was a successful businessman. When he retired from business, he moved to his new home in Southwest Florida where he became active in the community and made many friends.
He is survived by his fiancée, Gale Halsey; sister, Diane Minnery; beloved nieces Andrea Plichta & Rachel Minnery; daughter, Kathryn Oney; uncle, Dan Halcik; 3 grandchildren & many cousins.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd. 72 Sarasota, Florida 34241, on Monday April 21st at 1pm
