Ricardo “Chico” Salazar Jr., age 46, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. He was born to Ricardo Salazar Sr. and Gloria Susan Salazar, and grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and a community of friends who appreciated his infectious personality and kind heart.
Chico leaves behind his two beloved daughters, Angelica Salazar and Adriana Salazar, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his parents, Ricardo and Gloria Salazar; his sisters, Angela LeLeux and Jasmine Salazar Bryan; his brothers, Uriah Conner and Tony Salazar; and a large extended family, including two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, 10 nephews, one niece, two great-nephews, and four great-nieces. His five cherished cats, who brought him endless joy, will also miss him greatly.
Chico had a passion for rap music and loved sharing Chuck Norris jokes with anyone who would listen. He could talk for hours about his hobby of mining for gold and silver, and no conversation would be complete without mentioning his love for Cadillacs, even if he wasn't the best driver. Above all, Chico was a true family man—his love for his family knew no bounds. He would do anything for those he loved, and he made friends wherever he went with his generous spirit and warm heart.
Chico’s love for animals was evident in his care for his five cats and his habit of feeding any stray that passed by. His life was a testament to his kindness, humor, and devotion to the people he cared for. He will be remembered for his laughter, his stories, and his unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
A visitation will be held for Chico on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Grammier-Oberle, followed by a graveside burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
