Olive Marie Grant

Beloved widow of Raymond S. Grant, Olive Marie Grant, 93, of Groves passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014. Olive was born August 14, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA to Walter G. Wise and Marie A. Hartman. She retired from Arco after many years of being the supervisor for their payroll department. Olive was a good natured person, very independent and a hard worker. Olive loved flowers, her favorite being roses and violets. She was a natural artist who created stained glass and was also a very good sketch artist. Olive was loved by all who knew her she is now cradled in the Palm of God’s Hand.

Olive is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, William Wise and Elmer Wise of Pittsburgh, PA. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Kelley Cavazos and her husband Efraim of Houston; step-children; Earl Grant and wife Charlotte of Kountze and Candy Phillips and husband Donald of College Station; grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Cavazos, Eric Lamar Cavazos and Christopher Casey Cavazos; great-grandchildren, Anthony Xavier Cavazos, Anna Rose Eldridge, Logan Eldridge, and Marianna Binge all of Houston, TX.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, November 3, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Groves. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
