Maria Guadalupe Corona, 28, of Groves, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019. Maria was born March 28, 1991 in Galveston, Texas to Rafael Corona and Carmen Cabrera. She was always smiling, laughing and joking around with friends and family. Maria enjoyed life and was a kind-hearted person with a beautiful spirit, full force tenacity, and genuineness. Always the first to help. Never did she ever let anyone give up on themselves or their goals. She was the driving force of her family with her radiant smile and exuberant personality.
Maria graduated from Lamar University with a bachelor’s degree and was a lab technician with Veolia Environmental Services. Maria’s greatest joy in life happened on September 1, 2019 when she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Alina Victoria Volrie. She was a mother hen in life and will continue to be a mother hen in spirit.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are parents, Rafael Corona and Carmen Cabrera; significant other, Sam Volrie Jr., and their newborn daughter, Alina Victoria Volrie; brother, Rafael Corona Jr., sisters, Cassandra Corona and Nataly Corona; grandmothers, Maria Leon and Guadalupe Martinez; grandfather, Francisco Cabrera and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Christian Vigil will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral services for Maria will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
