Lillie Marie Myers, affectionately known as “Moe”, 99, of Port Arthur, Texas left this world to be with our Lord and Savior May 13, 2012 in Houston, Texas. She was born on August 20, 1912 to Joseph Leonard Domingue, and Ophelia (Robert) Domingue in Jeanerette, Louisiana.
The youngest in a family of 12, she was raised by her sisters when her father and mother passed away before her seventh birthday. After her childhood in Jeanerette, Lillie married the love of her life, Lawrence Myers on February 6, 1931.
In Port Arthur, she was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Moe had a very strong sense of family, loved and cared for her son Harvey, her husband, grandchildren, and great grandson. Moe was full of energy and had a tremendous love for life. She enjoyed bowling, reading, sewing, traveling, and the occasional casino trip.
Moe was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Lawrence Mitchell Myers; her only child, Harvey Joseph Myers; 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Pamela Kay Prow and husband Mark of Seabrook, Texas, Trixie Lee Krommer and husband Ingo of Grecia, Costa Rica; great-grandson, Tony Prock and wife Jennifer of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter-in-law, Marie Myers and her family who considered her a grandmother; numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of her family and friends will be held on May 14, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. in the Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home Chapel, Port Arthur, Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 15, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Stephen McCrate officiating and entombment will immediately follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, Texas.
