Juanita was born on July 10, 1929 in the mountain town of Cuqio in Jalisco Mexico. She enjoyed growing up in the small town with her family. In her teenage years her family moved to Guadalajara. In 1949 she met the love of her life, Santos Delgadillo a World War II Veteran. They were married in 1950 and she came to live with him in Port Arthur where Santos worked for the Texaco Refinery. They enjoyed 59 wonderful years of marriage.
Juanita was devoted to her large family and enjoyed nothing more than having extended family, friends and neighborhood kids come over to eat. She loved having her friends and their children over for just a cup of coffee and conversation or large gatherings. Family get together‘s were a regular routine at the house in the Pear Ridge neighborhood, often ending in her singing her favorite mariachi songs. Juanita was proud of her heritage and often took her family to Guadalajara in the summers.
She took great pleasure in her garden and loved taking pictures next to her beautiful flowers, always with a big smile and posing proudly. The most fond memory her children and grandchildren have, is of Juanita and her competitive games of Lotteria a tradition enjoyed by up to four generations at a time.
