Dora Theresa Robicheaux, age 97, of Groves, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was born August 17, 1924 in Franklin, LA to Vernon Michael Chauvin and Edith Cecile Matherne Chauvin. Her family moved to Port Arthur when she was one year old.
In her younger years Dora Lee worked with the American Cancer Society serving cancer patients. She was also a member of Birthright of Port Arthur chapter with sister Carmen at St. Mary Hospital. She worked in the main office of Gulf Oil Co. until her son was born. Years later she worked in purchasing at Christus St. Mary's Hospital.
Mrs. Robicheaux was very devoted in her Catholic faith and was a member of Our Lady of the Pines in Woodville and Immaculate Conception in Groves. She loved to bake, sew, do crafts and enjoyed oil painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Edith Chauvin; her husband of 60 years, John L. Lloyd Robicheaux; her sister-in-law, Mary Joyce Chauvin.
Surviving her are he son, Michael Lloyd (Mary K.) Robicheaux of Allen, TX; daughters Dona Faye DeKerlegland of Groves and Edie Ann (Paul) Loyd of Parker, CO; brother, Vernon Charles "Bud" Cahuvin of Port Acres. She is also survived by her much loved 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Grammier Oberle Funeral home on Friday December 17, 2021 from 8:30 - 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception - St. Peter the Apostle. Mrs. Robicheaux will be interred at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
