Bertram was born on September 3, 1918, in Patterson, Louisiana to Clophia Theriot and Emily Orgeron T. He had lived in Port Arthur since 1937 and was a retired machinist with Texaco Oil Refinery in Port Arthur for thirty-five years until he retired in 1981. Bertram was also a World War II Marine Veteran who served on the U.S.S. Philadelphia which was at sea during the bombing of Pearl Harbor; he was also a member of St. James Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post #797, Eagles Aerie #228 and the American Legion Post #7. Bertram loved to fish and taking care of the neighborhood cats, he will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his son, John Theriot and his wife Phyllis of Nederland; sister, Eula Mae Botteger of Nederland; grandson, Jason Theriot of Nederland. Bertram was preceded in death by his wife Sophie Theriot.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A Chapel Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
