Baltazar was born March 2, 1926 in Derby, Texas to Filiberto and Agustina Gutierrez.
Baltazar retired from Texaco Refining after 37 years as a boilermaker and welder and Standard Alloys after 5 years as a welder.
He coached for Port Acres Little League, Port Acres Babe Ruth League and was a member of Port Acres Optimist Club and the OCAW. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid fan of baseball, especially the Astros, win or lose.
Mr. Gutierrez is preceded in death by his parents, Filiberto Gutierrez and Agustina Najera Gutierrez of Port Arthur, Texas; brothers, Julian Gutierrez and Jose Valdemar Gutierrez and a brother-in-law, Sylvester Guerra.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Eloise Moreno Gutierrez; children, Guadalupe G. Garcia and husband Felix of Katy, Texas, Baltazar Gutierrez Jr., and wife Irazema of Houston, Texas and Eduardo Gutierrez Sr., of Clear Lake, Texas; brother, Guadalupe Gutierrez Sr., and wife Yolanda of Nederland, Texas; sisters, Anita G. Ramirez and husband Jesse Sr., of Houston, Texas and Beatrice G. Guerra of Lufkin, Texas and sisters-in-law, Margaret G. Gutierrez and Margaret M. Gutierrez. Grandchildren include Eduardo Gutierrez Jr., of Reno, Nevada, Ledie Edward Gutierrez of Pasadena, Texas, Allison Gutierrez of Deer Park, Texas, Baltazar Alonzo Gutierrez of Newport, California and Aleisa Irazema Gutierrez of Houston, Texas.
