Angeline Graffagnino, 97, of Groves, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on August 23, 2012. She was born in Centerville, Louisiana, on February 7, 1915, to the late Anna Liprie Nicotre and Joseph (Guiseppe) Nicotre. She married Tony Graffagnino in 1938 and lived in Port Arthur until his death in 1981.
Angeline was a loving, gentle, and proud mother and grandmother. She had the love, respect, and admiration of her family and friends. Everything she did was done with perfection. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, and homemaker. In addition to her many talents, she was an employee of the Port Arthur Independent School District Food Service Department and was the dessert cook there for 16 years until her retirement.
Angeline is survived by her three daughters, Rosemary McMullin of Orange, Ann Arnaud and Linda Hance of Groves. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Craig McMullin and wife Michelle, Dayna Guest and husband Donald, Darla Criscchio and husband Mark and Mike Arnaud; and eight great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, and Lucas McMullin, Jordan and Colton Criscchio, Mason Arnaud, Shelby and Colby Guest and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Annie Roccaforte, Frances Nicotre, Kina Sullivan, B.J. (Nick) Nicotre, Jack Nicotre and Mary Nicotre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with Monsignor Kenneth Greig as celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank her special caregiver, Pat Willis, for the excellent care she gave our mother over the last year. Also, special thanks to Pat Robinson who sat with mother over the last five months.
