Alton Ray Murphy, 82, of Port Arthur passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Beaumont on December 10, 2016. He was born to Preston Roy Murphy and Lois Peveto Murphy on May 5, 1934, in Cameron, Louisiana.
Preceded in death by both his parents and his wife, Glinda Cooper Murphy, he is survived by his sisters Carole Page and Connie Dollinger, both of San Antonio; nephew Mark Dollinger his wife Jenny Brannen, and their son Jack Dollinger of Austin; nieces Mindi Phipps, husband John, and children Melissa and Paul of Meadowview, Virginia; and niece Ashley Corker and husband Dan Ashbaugh of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Grammier - Oberle Funeral Home, 4841 39th Street in Port Arthur. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway in Groves.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
