Ron is predeceased by wife Pamela and father Clifford.
Ron is survived by two wonderful and beautiful children, Josh and Kristin, sisters Rheanne, Pam, Cindy, and Lori; mother Joyce, and birth father Art, many nieces and nephews as well as other extended family and many, many dear friends – many of whom Ron considered family.
Ron came to the Alberni Valley in the early 2000’s from Manitoba and worked for the HandiDart bus and then became a Real Estate Agent. Prior to this, Ron’s adventurous spirit took him all over North America working and courageously trying his hand at new skills and vocations but; Ron found the “home” he had been searching for all his life when he arrived in the valley. Although he was involved in many things; The Beaufort Gang, Lions club, hobby farming, and spending time with his closest friends, his world and his heart was, above all else, invested in his beloved children. His pride and his joy and his peace revolved around them and their many activities and interests whether it be the 4H or Tae Kwon Do.
Ron grew up in the equine world and he was a natural and excellent horseman with a real cowboy spirit.
An infectious and sincere grin was present in every encounter with Ron and his genuinely considerate and humbly honest nature touched many folks who were considered, by Ron, as extended family everywhere he went.
At the sudden and tragic loss of his wife, Pamela, 2.5 years ago, Ron could never quite get over the overwhelming love and steadfast support he received in Port Alberni and the wave of love that flowed in from back in Manitoba. The knowledge of this love sustained him in his journey as a single father.
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from Elim Tabernacle, 3946 Wallace St, Port Alberni, BC with Pastor Bruce Greenwood officiating.
