Raye is predeceased by her husband Larry (2012), her father, Leopold and her mother, Cecile
also 3 sisters, Pauline, Claudette and Helen and 1 brother Robert (Joan) also sister-in-law Diane
(Larry).
Raye is survived by her son, Mike and daughter, Dianne, stepchildren Rodney (Brenda), Angela
and Janet. Also survived by her brother Norman (Lucette), brother’s in law Ken (Debbie) and
Jim (Eva), 5 grandchildren, also nieces/nephews in B.C. and Ontario.
Raye worked at various jobs including the government of Whitehorse. Larry and Raye were
married in January 1987. They enjoyed the outdoors and had a gold claim that they worked.
They moved to Powell River in the early 1990’s. Larry commuted to the mines in the north and
Raye did foster care for many years. Raye had a generous heart and would give to those in need.
She loved to cook and bake for others. She would make up to 20 pies for Church functions or
deliver desserts to PRACL. Her Mexican Candy Bars were quite famous and she would share
them with people that were special to her. This was her special recipe and she would not give it
away. Raye’s faith was very important to her and she would share this with people that she met.
She loved her family, her friends and the community of believers at Westview Baptist Church.
Raye has been cremated and a Celebration of Life to be held at Westview Baptist Church in
the spring of 2023.
