Peter Joseph Sevigny

Peter is survived by his wife Kathy and two daughters Rachelle (Tomas Hansen) and Nicole (Kevin Dowling) and granddaughter Freya Hansen. Sister's Rose Ethier (Roland Ethier) and Ann Sevigny, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peter came to the Alberni Valley in 1948, settling at Sproat Lake in 1976 where he and Kathy raised their family. Lake life was a big part of Peter's life, he always referred to home as a piece of heaven. He owned the pile driver for many years, was a keen boatsman, and spent the winter months plowing snow for friends and family.

In his childhood Peter discovered a love of mechanics, working on friend's bicycles and later their cars and boats. His teenage years were (mis)spent racing cars and his youth will forever be immortalized in the CBC documentary "Young in a Small Town".

Peter worked in the Somass Division Mill from age 16 until retirement at 65. He was fortunate to travel to Europe, New Zealand, and lengthy stays in Mexico during his career.

A funeral service for Peter will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Jericho Road Church, 5100 Tebo Ave, Port Alberni, British Columbia V9Y 5Y6.
