Predeceased by her daughter Rhonda Kartz; Helen is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Myron; children Wayne, Grant (Anita), Gary (Teresa), and Brenda (Darren); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and close friends.
Born in Nanaimo, Helen moved to Central Lake at a young age with her family. She developed many close and life-long friendships as she was growing up there. After moving to Port Alberni, Helen met the love of her life, Myron, in 1948, and they were married two years later and started a family. Being a mother of five, her family was her passion. She was a loving and caring mother who loved to cook, bake, and take care of her family. She would always make sure you left her house with a full stomach. Helen and Myron loved to travel together. They camped in Little Qualicum every year for 30 years, which gave them an opportunity to visit their close friends who would also camp there, and spent winters in Arizona. Helen will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A Celebration of Helen’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
