ACLAND; Jean passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Echo Village at the age of 95.
Predeceased by husband Bill; Jean is survived by children, Steve (Sharon), Glenn (Lou), and Craig (Yvonne); grandchildren Melody, Richard, Todd, Tyler, Jessica, and Kyle as well as 8 great grandchildren.
Born on Vancouver Island, Jean was a shy and quiet person. During WWII she worked for the Navy in St. John’s Newfoundland on the plotting board until 1944 when she came back to BC to help raise the rest of her siblings and work at the Naval Yards in Esquimalt until the end of the War. In 1947 she married Bill, and in 1950 they moved to Port Alberni where she turned her attention to raising a family and eventually being involved in her grandchildren’s lives. Jean was also an active member of the Sunshine Club for over 30 years.
