Doreen Ivy O'Dowd Brook

Predeceased by her father, mother, brother, sister and 1 nephew. She is survived by her 5 children, Scott (Faithe), Virginia , Ron (Claudette), Ivy (Alonzo) Surette, Bill (Winnie) and grandchildren; Jody, Keegan, James, Tara, Michael, John, Brandon, Jenna, Nicholas, Adam, Adele, David, Aaron, Steven and Kathleen, as well as 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Doreen was born and raised in Edgerton, AB, and resided in Port Alberni from 1969 onward. She was a home support worker until her retirement. Doreen was a founding member of the low income, and single parent groups, a member of the garden club she also volunteered for numerous groups and causes. She was always the first to lend a helping hand, and an ear to listen.

The family would like to thank Dr. Fraser, The home care nurses and home support workers, and Ty Watson house for their loving care of Mom.

A Celebration of Doreen’s Life will be held on Wednesday, March 6th, 2013 at 1PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall, 3561 3rd Ave, Port Alberni, BC

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Doreen to Ty Watson House.
