Dale was predeceased by his parents Russell "Bud" & Doris, paternal grandparents Clinton & Pearl, maternal grandparents Frederick & Gertrude, uncles Edward & Jean, aunts Eva, Muriel, Marg, & Winnifred "Winnie," longtime friend David "Ewok," cats DR & Squirrelly, and dog Princess
He is survived by his two children - Chantelle, Clinton (Alex), uncle Kenneth (Kassie), Nephew Jeff, nieces Kristina (William) & Brynna "Aristo," and great-niece Keesha (Corey). He is also survived by his siblings Brian (Suzanne), Reg (June), and Brent, along with many cousins and their families.
Dale worked as a pipefitter for 20+ years and was a member of Union #488, based in Edmonton, for 35 years. He mainly worked at the oil sands in Fort McMurray, Alberta - where he made many friends among his co-workers with his warm heart, strong work ethic, stubborn common sense, and hilarious sense of humour.
An avid collector of military paraphernalia, especially if it had to do with any Canadian-Scottish Regiment, he channeled his strong work ethic into his searches for badges, patches, books & pins, endearing himself to many collectors across Canada and around the world.
Dale's family would like to thank all the medical professionals who tried to help him win the battle against his health - especially Dr. De Witt, Dr. Yip, and the nurses/aides at West Coast General Hospital (especially April & Preet).
For all who knew Dale, be comforted in that Dale's battle is over- "During a sunny Royal afternoon, a strong heart beat its last... To a fortunate few, he was a steadfast friend... To two, he was a loving & devoted Dad."
From birth, Dale was certainly never destined to be the 'weest' of Leprechauns (who represent his favorite time of year), but his big heart and steadfast loyalty will be missed.
At Dale's request, there will not be a service, with cremation having already taken place. Any condolences can be left on Dale's Facebook page.
