Predeceased by his wife Marguerite of 70 years, parents Francois & Jeannette, sisters Lucie (Fred) Renaud, Frances (Leo) Croteau, brothers Robert (Millie), Roland (Della), Sister-in-law & brother-in-law Jeanne & Philip Francoeur, brother-in-law Steve Terepocki.
Survived by sisters Jean Terepocki and Rose (Vic) Taulu. He was blessed with many nieces and nephews.
Ben was born in Debden, Saskatchewan and moved to Port Alberni in 1948 where he met his wife Marguerite. Ben worked at APD for over 40 years. Ben loved sports and activities. He played hockey, softball, curling, golfing, and also enjoyed fishing and walking. Ben was also one of the founding members of the Cherry Creek Fire Department. Ben & Marg enjoyed travelling to Alberta & Saskatchewan, spending winters in Yuma, and summers camping at Big Qualicum campsite for over 45 years.
Ben was a friendly man and loved to meet people never forgetting their names. After his wife’s death in June 2022 he went to live at Echo Village. The family would like to thank the staff for their care.
A funeral mass will be held on April 22nd at 11:00am at Holy Notre Dame Church 4731 Burke Rd. Father Stephen Paine Officiating.
