Dad was born on July 16th, 1930 in Hitchcock, Saskatchewan.
We were able to celebrate his 92nd birthday just days before his passing.
Allen is survived by his 6 children and their spouses, Terry (Gina), Kris, Glen (Carleen), David (Cheryl), Alana (Jeff) and Tammy (Cliff), 11 grandkids, 8 great grandchildren, his sister Lila, in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews and friends
Allen is predeceased by his wife, our mom, Lita. We take comfort knowing that they are together again holding hands and toasting to their reunion with a nice cold glass of wine.
Dad is also predeceased by his grandson Robbie, his son-in-law Larry, parents Harry and Helen Tilley, 7 of his 8 sisters (Helen, Florence, Rose, Ivy, Grace, Doreen and Alice) and his 4 brothers (Alf, Lloyd, Ivan & Roy) and a number of friends.
Dad was an extremely hard worker. He had his own logging company in addition to a shake and shingle mill.
All of his hard work was to provide a wonderful life for his family, which he did and then some.
He also built every home we ever lived in, was a pilot, owned his own sea plane, built outdoor furniture, loved model trains, doing puzzles and making wine for Happy Hours with Mom.
He loved his family and created places/spaces for his family and friends to gather together for some fun, games and great laughs.
Dad passed away peacefully at Arrowsmith Lodge, in Parksville and in perfect Dad fashion, he waited until family wasn’t around so we couldn't make a fuss over him.
We will be forever grateful to the wonderful, caring and loving staff at the lodge. Dad really felt like he was home while he was in their care.
At his request, there will be no service…he was always up for a party but not when it was for him.
For all those who love him and now have lost him, he will be forever missed.
Cheers Dad, love you always
