Ray lost his battle with cancer on August 21st, 2014 at the age of 81, with his loving family by his side. He was predeceased by his mother Edna Fong, his father Lun Kwok and sister Evie Chin. He leaves behind his loving wife Ann, son Len (Desiree), daughters Kim (Lamar), Sherry (Dan), Lorna (Bryan) and grandchildren Amanda, Kayla, Kyle (Nicole), Juliana (Marcel) and great-grandchildren Ben, Ava, Ryan and Mattias; brother Doug (Flora), sisters Karen, Lana (Al), Leila (Marvin) and numerous other relatives and friends.
Ray was born in Vancouver, BC and moved to Port Alberni in 1956. He spent many years in the auto body industry before moving to a career in real estate. He was very involved with hockey as a player, coach and referee. He was a toastmaster and volunteer fireman for many years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, wine making, writing and spending time with his family.
A Celebration of Life will take place from 1 - 4pm on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 293, 4680 Victoria Quay, Port Albenri, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to BC Children's Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at West Coast General Hospital for their support in his final days.
