Samuel Thomas "S.T." Smith Sr.

Services will be at JUNIPER GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH, 289 Juniper Grove Road, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Argile Smith, Jr. will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 10:00 am until the time of services, Monday at the church.

Mr. Smith was born July 16, 1933 in Poplarville, Mississippi to Argile and Nettie Lenore McGehee Smith. He was a member of Juniper Grove Baptist Church, an United States Army veteran, and retired from Ford Motor Company in Connersville, Indiana. He enjoyed farming, NASCAR Racing, and was a member of the American Legion, Post 77 in Brookville, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret M. Kolb Smith; two children, Samuel T. (Lennie) Smith, Jr., Lenore (Luther) Ladner; four grandchildren, Lindsey Poole, Kelsey Poole, Zac Smith, Abby Smith; nine siblings, Monroe Smith, Patsy Cochran, Don Smith, Diane Wisby, Vicky LaCoursiere, Melba Cummings, Argile Smith, Jr., Clinton Smith, and Chet Smith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three siblings, Mackey Wells, Reba Warner, Waine Smith; his stepmother, Cleo Breland; and his mother-in-law, Pauline Kolb-Cummings.
