Robert “Bob” Julian Guyse departed this life into God’s presence on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the age of 85. Bob was born in Forest, Mississippi to William A. Guyse Jr. and Irene Huffman Guyse on October 23, 1938. Upon graduating from Forest High School, Bob attended Mississippi State University before joining the United States Air Force. He returned home after his military service to assist with the family business before venturing out and having a successful career in sales and management. Bob had a love for vintage cars, building and collecting model cars, reading and collecting John Grisham novels, and could appreciate a great classic western movie. Most of all, Bob loved his family. He would participate in his children’s school activities, often bringing band equipment to away football games. As a former Boy Scout, he was proud that his son and grandsons carried on the scouting tradition with each earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sister, Doris Jean Leahey and two brothers, William “Bill” A. Guyse III and James “Jim” H. Guyse.
Left to forever cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Sue Myrick Guyse; son, Robert B. (Tammy) Guyse; daughter, Julie (Ernie) Krieger; grandchildren, Taylor (Mallory) Guyse, Meagan Guyse, Mitchell Guyse and Katherine (Bailey) Whitehead; and three great-grandchildren, Wrenley Guyse, Adley Guyse and Mailey Guyse.
A funeral service, officiated by Reverend Jeff Pruett, will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am at White Funeral Home of Poplarville. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 9:00 am until the service begins. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Poplarville.
