Peggy Joyce Gipson

She was born in Poplarville, MS and attended Pearl River Junior College (PRC) where she received her associates degree in business. She was the oldest of two children born to Judge Volley and Madie Viola (Rester) Owen. She has been a dedicated member of several Baptist churches in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. Peggy was passionate about church libraries and helped start one in every church attended.

She is preceded in death by her brother Jimmy Lynn, and parents JV and Madie Owen.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 69 years Vernon A Gipson, three sons Dane (Donita), Owen (Linda) and Scott (Marilyn), 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

A private family service will be held for Peggy at 8:30am Saturday Sep 11 2021 at White funeral home in Poplarville. Burial will follow at 10:00 Carriere First Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Billy Galloway will provide the graveside service.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Canopy Assisted Living Facility on Berryhill Rd for the love and care given to Peggy during the past year.
