Nathan Louis Carmadelle, Sr., of Barataria, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on February 25, 1938, he was a cherished member of his community and a beloved presence in the lives of those who knew him.
Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lucille Carmadelle, as well as his eldest daughter, Monica Carmadelle Sylvest. He is survived by the love of his life, Rebecca Askew; his children, Natalie Keller (Doug), Nicole Carmadelle (Shelly), Leslie Carmadelle (Heath), and Nathan Carmadelle, Jr. (Courtney); and his grandchildren Amanda Mouton, Holden Danjean, Nicholas Carmadelle, Chloe' Keller, and Sarah, Julia, and Nathalia Carmadelle. He is also survived by his sister Carolyn LeBlanc and his beloved pet and companion, Henry.
A graduate of St. Stanislaus High School, Nathan went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. He was a self-employed businessman whose reputation for integrity earned him respect throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. An avid outdoorsman with a passion for nature’s beauty, Nathan found joy in sharing stories that captivated those around him. His outgoing personality and unwavering loyalty made him a treasured friend to many.
Nathan’s kindness and generosity were hallmarks of his character. Whether spending time with family or offering support to friends in need, he left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May Nathan’s memory bring comfort to those who loved him and inspire others to live with the same warmth and generosity he so effortlessly shared.
A Funeral Mass, officiated by Father Fintan Kilmurray, will be held on December 27, 2024 beginning at 1:00PM at White Funeral Home of Poplarville. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 11:00 AM until the mass begins. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Poplarville.
