Mr. Ruggles was born December 11, 1937 in Huntington, West Virginia to John Robert Ruggles and Bertha Mae Johnson Ruggles. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Army and a former United States Navy veteran. He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, William Short Ruggles; two siblings, Frances Ruggles, John Robert Ruggles; his stepfather, Junior H. Prince; one stepbrother, Jackie Prince; one brother-in-law, James M. Brown, I, and one nephew, James M. Brown, II.
Family members include five children, Kenneth L. Ruggles, Jr. of Burns, OR, Edward C. Ruggles of Wasilla, AK, Joseph J. (Melissa) Ruggles of Chesapeake, OH; Mark N. Ruggles of Burns, OR, Matthew P. Ruggles of Bend, OR; one sister, Roberta A. Brown of Poplarville, MS; one brother, Rick (Sandy) Ruggles of Chesapeake, OH; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470 at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Rev. Fintan Kilmurray will officiate the service. Burial with military honors will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
