John Wesley Walker

John was born January 4, 1938 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Lena Walker and Daniel Columbus Walker. He was a retired contractor and construction superintendent; a veteran of the United States Army; member of Juniper Grove Baptist Church and above all, a loving Father and Grand Father. He married the former Sarah Poole on March 11, 1973 in Slidell, Louisiana.

John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sarah Walker, three daughters, Landy (James) McPherson, Debbie (Kevin) Anderson, Sherry (Marvin) Williams; one brother, Eugene A. (Eloise) Walker; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a host of extended family.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Columbus Walker, Jr., Van Richard Walker; and one grandson, Trey Williams.

A funeral ceremony for John will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi 39470. Interment will occur at Highland Cemetery, Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services, Thursday at the funeral home.
