Eva E. Manuel

Mrs. Manuel was born April 23, 1929 in Kiln to Erastus and Alphoncene Cuevas Saucier. She was a homemaker and a member of the Board of Commissioners and Ladies' Auxillary for Post 58 VFD. Eva was an active poll worker in the Standard - Dedeaux voting precincts.

Eva never met a stranger, loved gardening, and camping. Above all, family was her most important pursuit in life. She will be sorely missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Horace Smith; one stepdaughter, Colleen Faye Cuevas; two brothers, Fred Saucier, Clifton Saucier; one sister, Norma Cuevas; four grandchildren, Doyle Cuevas, Amanda Ladner, Kendall Ladner, Pamela Lyons; and one great grandson, Christopher Cuevas, Jr.

Family members include her husband of sixty four years, George Manuel, Jr., eight children, Judith Ann (the late D.J.) Cuevas, Myra (E.J.) Ladner, James (Debbie) Manuel, Cynthia (the late Smiley) Callender, Amy (Larry) Flynt, Lorraine (Earl) French, William (Darlene Mcilwain) Manuel, Mark (Bridget) Manuel; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Services will be held at White Funeral Home (315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470) on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 10:00 am. Rev. Donnie Smith will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Standard - Sand Hill Cemetery in the Standard Community. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.

It is requested that guests observe current social distancing guidelines at the funeral home and to wear a mask.
