Ms Catherine Ann Jones

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday December 30, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, Poplarville for Ms. Catherine Ann Jones, 62, of Poplarville, Mississippi who died Friday December 24, 2010 at her residence. Reverend Jeff Pruett will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Hook & Ladder Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana she was born April 29, 1948 to Warren L. Jones, Sr. and Edwina Covell – Jones. She was a retired Retail Marketing Merchandiser; a member of First United Methodist Church, Poplarville being active in its Braille Ministry, and an animal lover.

Survivors include four sisters, Gayle Chance and her husband Harold; Yvonne Theriot and her husband Clark, both of Picayune, Mississippi, Ellen Nash of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Sharon Evola and her husband Mike of Harvey, Louisiana; four brothers, Warren L. Jones, Jr. of McNeill, Mississippi, William H. Jones, Sr., Edward Jones, Sr. and his wife Madelyn both of Poplarville, Mississippi and Zachary Jones, Sr. of Metairie, Louisiana; special niece, Shannon McElveen of New Orleans, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Margie Jones of Poplarville, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Thomas L. Jones, Sr.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to First United Methodist Church of Poplarville; ASPCA; American Cancer Society, or the charity of one’s choice.
