Mr. Andrews was born June 24, 1941 in Natchez, Mississippi to John Benjamin and Gertrude Thelma Hannan Andrews. He was a decorated United States Air Force veteran with 15 years of service during the Vietnam Era. During his service in the military, he was a member of the Security Police forces and a criminal investigator. He was the former owner Poplarville Welding and Hydraulics and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He married the former Frances Lee Jones on December 19, 1974 in Fort Bend County, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Conrad Andrews.
Family members include his wife of 44 years, Frances Andrews; five children, Carlos Jean Andrews, Jr., Mary (Michael) Sterling, Sherri (Eric) Aikin, Barbara (Stephen) Haik, Deborah (David) Kearby; two sisters, Jeanine Reed, Marsha (Raymond) Hitt; two brothers, James (Linda) Andrews, John Ben (Paulette) Andrews; grandchildren, Adam, Jordan, Casey, Brenton, Blake, Travis, Morgan; a host of great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 10:00 am. Rev. Shane Moore will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Avenue, Biloxi, MS, 39531 at 1:30 PM. The family will receive friends and have visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the The Fisher House; Construction of the Border Wall; or the charity of one's choice.
