Angela Everidis Dixon passed from this life into God’s presence on Monday, June 19, 2023 at the age of 61. Angela was born on September 11, 1961 to George Fernandez and Everidis Lugo on September 11, 1961 and grew up in the Little Woods area of New Orleans. She graduated from Marion Abramson High School and had also attended Clifton L. Ganus High School. Angela went on to L.S.U. School of Nursing and worked at Charity Hospital New Orleans emergency room. That’s where she found her true calling in the travel business and went on to open Fun and Sun Travel in Slidell, Louisiana. She loved all animals and always had several dogs and cats that she rescued throughout her adult life. Her greatest love of animals were her horses that she would work together with her husband, training and riding them often. She enjoyed riding her own motorcycle with her husband and would take them on trips across the country riding them in many states. Angela always insisted driving the large motorhome herself and received many looks for doing so. She was also a regular at the shooting range and loved hearing the plates “pling” at 300 yards.
Left to forever cherish her memory are her husband of 34 years, Mitchell Dixon of Poplarville; her son, Michael Beard (Connie) of Ponchatoula, LA; the grandchildren that she knew and loved, Quinn Beard, Alexis Grant, Gabriel Babin, Caleb and Rosalee Ricardo.; and her brother, George Fernandez Jr. (Patrice) of Slidell, LA.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 3:00 pm at White Funeral Home in Poplarville. Friends may join the family for visitation from 1:00 until the memorial service begins. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you donate to the church or charity of your choice.
