Sharon Omecia Gills, age 67, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born October 12, 1951 to Miles Gills and Allie Hugh Edmonson Gills. Sharon was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and needlepoint.
Services will be at 3 PM Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Minister Robert Garland officiating; burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the family.
Survivors include her children, Tonia Kelly (Mike) of Pontotoc, MS, Terrie Taylor of Tupelo, MS, Kitty Wallace of Pontotoc, MS and Kevin York (Jennifer) of Tupelo, MS; her 3 sisters, Tamera Thompson, Reba Gills and Mary Harris, all of Little Rock, AR; seven grandchildren, Stormi Snell (Colt), Daniele Nolan (Ethan), James Smith (Christy), Hope Kelly, Michael Davis, Jackie Davis and Joshua Davis; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren, Kevin York, Jr., and Ashlee Smith.
Pallbearers will be Michael Kelly, James Smith, Michael Davis, Josh Davis, Taylor Cain and Michael Taylor.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
