Randal Lee Collums

Randal Lee Collums, age 63, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Graceland Care Center in Oxford. He was born June 14, 1949 in Oxford, MS to Jimmie Lee Collums and Sibyl Swaim Collums. He graduated from the University of MS with a Bachelor‘s degree in Business and Accounting. He spent most of his working years helping others as director of LIFT, Inc. and at Three Rivers Planning and Development in Pontotoc. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he transferred his membership from Thaxton Baptist Church. He was a gifted basketball player while in school at Thaxton. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed sharing this pastime with his sons and grandsons. Randy was also widely known as a family man. He took immense pride in his children and grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 AM Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Guinn Cemetery with Rev. Buster Wilson and Rev. Jimmy Russell officiating. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife: Beverly Young Collums, whom he married November 1, 1998; his mother: Sibyl Collums; his daughter: Randa Jones (Bill) ; two sons:Toby Collums and Rusty Collums (Haylee); one step-daughter: Laura Gibson; one step-son: John Gibson (Buffy); his brother: Butch Collums (Clarice) and his six grandchildren: Avery Claire Jones, Andy Jones, Ty Collums, Madi Collums, Jack Gibson and Taylor Gibson and his mother-in-law: Evelyn Young.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Pallbearers will be: Rusty Collums, Toby Collums, Bill Jones, Mike Scott, Tim Russell and John Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Andy Jones, Ty Collums, Jack Gibson and Taylor Gibson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Friday at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc.
