Martha Owen Rutledge, age 86, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Pontotoc Extended Care Nursing Home. She was born October 28, 1929 to Walter and Montye Windham Owen. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pontotoc and a homemaker. Her hobbies were reading and sewing and driving her big white car around town.
Services will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Rev. Will Howie and Dr. David Hamilton officiating; burial will follow in the Pontotoc City Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her son: Bill Rutledge and wife Wanda; one sister: Rosemary Frantz; four grandchildren: Wally Witt and wife Donna, Buffie Butler and husband Ken, Michelle Nelson and husband Kerry and April Barefield and husband Kevin ; nine great-grandchildren: Lydia Witt, Chance Witt and Mary Kate Butler, Lakyn Barrett and husband Dylan, Meggin Clark and husband Jeb, Caleb Nelson and Eli Nelson, Bo Barefield and Jack Barefield; and two great-great grandchildren: Lyla Barrett and Mila Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Felix Rutledge; a daughter: Linda Sims; two brothers: James Owen and wife Mary and Keith Owen and wife Willeen; and a brother-in-law: Frank Frantz.
Pallbearers will be: Wally Witt, Kenneth Frantz, Frank Owen, Ken Butler, Chance Witt and Jimmy Owen.
Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm at the funeral home.
