Janice Hamblin McKnight, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at her residence. She was born July 10, 1946 to Benny Lee and Velma Sprayberry Hamblin. Janice was a member of Skuna Valley Baptist Church and retired from Astro Lounger. She enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with them.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 P.M., Friday, October 6, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with Rev. Greg Moss officiating. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Danny McKnight; her children, Steve Hamblin (Shelly), Robby Hamblin, Jan Houser (Mitt) and Dan McKnight; nine grandchildren, Nathan Hamblin (Meagan), Hogan Hamblin (Mallory), Morgan Davidson (Conner), Adam Zachary (Karley), Sara Shields (Toy), Sam Zachary, Benjamin Bramlitt, Mia Houser and Kerri Hamblin; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Charlie Hamblin; two sisters-in-law, Emma Hamblin and Kathy Wood; three brothers-in-laws, Mickey McKnight (Linda), Kenny McKnight and Joey McKnight (Katie) and a special niece and caregiver, Rhonda Knox; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Fay Moss; a brother, Ray Hamblin; two sisters-in-law, Dinah Hamblin and Debbie McKnight and a brother-in-law, Wayne Moss.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Hamblin, Hogan Hamblin, Benjamin Bramlitt, Bryan Wood, Adam Zachary and Sam Zachary. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathan McKnight and Andrew McKnight.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
