

William was born in Brooklyn, New York to William and Caroline Anderson.
He was a loving, devoted husband to Mary F. Bozza-Anderson, a devoted step-father to Mary C. Wise (Chip) and Anthony R. Picarello (Martha), and an exceptionally loving, thoughtful and devoted grandfather to his grandchildren, Abigail Wise, Elena, Anna, Viviana, and Daniel William Picarello as well as a loving grandfather to his step-grandson, Alex Wise. William was a loving uncle to his niece, Susan Ulrich (James), and grand nephews, Daniel, and Timothy Ulrich. He predeceased his sister, Carole Roessler (Albert), and brother, George Anderson (Miriam).
William was an avid Historian of the Civil War, Revolutionary War, World War I and World War II. His mind was as sharp as a tack. He could tell you all the stats on any baseball player or football player regardless of the year. His knowledge of World Series and Super Bowls was exceptional.
William would light up a room with his presence. His humor and his love of life made everyone who was in contact with him happy and joyful. He was an exceptional person.
William served in the Merchant Marines during the Vietnam War, bringing supplies and stores to our troops. After completing his service, he worked his way through the ranks of many oil companies. Before retiring, William worked as an executive for Saudi-Aramco as the Director of Operations. Under his direction, 75% of all oil being imported and exported to the United States went through his hands. He was well-known, liked, and respected in his industry.
William and Mary moved from Brooklyn to Florida in 1998. They lived happily taking numerous cruises around the World, South America, Europe, Mexico, Asia, Australia, Singapore, India, United Arab Republic, and Russia. The list could go on.
He will be greatly missed on so many levels.
