Warren S Gilbert was my first municipal Chief of Police in 1986 at the Coral Springs Police Department after I got out of the US Army. I remember him to be a quiet man and a consummate professional. I am sorry to learn of his passing. I wish that I could have been present for his memorial service to pay my respect. As a result of the opportunities given to me by Chief Gilbert, I was able to have a career in law enforcement and retired as the Assistant Chief of Police in Miami Gardens in 2016.

Chief Gilbert hired me in 1975 and was an excellent leader who was fair and supportive. He was a big fan of our Pistol Team, which would have struggled for its successes without his backing. He found the same enthusiasm for the new programs that he brought to our growing agency such as the Traffic and Juvenile Units, SWAT, VIN and Training. His foundation served all members well, and today the CSPD continues to excel. Condolences go to the family for their loss of a great man.

My sincerest sympathy to the Gilbert family.  I met Warren in 1972 when I joined CSPD.  He was the PD's first detective and held the rank of Sargeant.  He became Chief in 1974, and brought the entire department to a higher level of service.  I will always remember him as a great colleague and friend.  R.I.P. my old friend Warren Gilbert.

Chief Gilbert hired me in 1984, providing me the opportunity to be part of a growing, professional, and well run police dept. It was an honor to serve  for and with him.

So very sorry for your lost for the family and friends of Chief Warren Gilbert.  I was one of his police officers that proudly worked for him . I was   an SRO they called me Officer Regina. 
Chief Gilbert helped sponsor me to get to a police woman’s conference in Israel in 1986.

Chief Gilbert built the foundation of the Coral Springs Police Department which has enabled it to prosper and develop into the successful and accomplished police department it is today. He was a wonderful mentor to me, he taught me a great deal about leadership.  His support and advice helped me believe in myself at a time when failure was not an option.
