Theresa Briggs

On Wednesday October 25, 2023 Theresa Briggs passed away in Orlando at the age of 91. Theresa is predeceased by her husband, Navy Veteran Willie Ray Briggs, and her brother John Simeone. She is survived by her five children: son Ken Cleary and daughter in law Peggy, son Tom Cleary and daughter in law Suzie, daughter Rose Sciandra, former son in law John, son Dan Cleary and daughter in law Diane, daughter Carol Frederick and son in law David, and her step son Johnathyne Briggs. Theresa is also survived by her nephew John, her Grandchildren: Philip,Johnny, Michael, Jessica, Brittany, Allison, Kimberly, Christopher, predeceased by Great Grandaughter Bella and survived by Great Granddaughter Chloe, Great Grandson Jaxson, and Great Grandson Ozzie.

Theresa was born in the Bronx, NY into a loving Italian family with Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Terry raised five children in NY, and moved to Florida in 1980. She worked at Publix for many years and also opened a jewelry store. Theresa moved to the Villages, Florida, where she lived for many years, enjoying the freedom and adventures of retirement. Terry was known for her high energy, for her love of laughter, she is infamous for moving her residence every few years, and she is known as good cook and baker.

Terry became blind within the last year of her life and therefore, in leiu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Lighthouse for the Blind in your area. We also ask that you consider downloading the app Be my eyes which allows sighted volunteer to assist the visually impaired with small tasks via Facetime.

Theresa will be laid to rest on Monday November 13, 2023, where she will join her husband Willie Ray in Florida's National Cemetary, Bushnell, Florida.
