Rosemary was born on June 16, 1936 in Derby, CT to Ignatius and Catherine D’Alexander. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William, her sons Mark (Monique) and William Jr., her brother, John D’Alexander (Marcia), grandsons Benjamin, David, Thomas, and William, granddaughter Shannon Shepherd (Joseph), and great-grandsons Brandon and Maximus.
Rosemary lived life to the fullest. She was an elementary school teacher in Seymour, CT for 35 years and was named Seymour Teacher of the Year in 1995. She loved to entertain, made incredible wedding cakes and Italian cookies, and enjoyed traveling. Most of all, she loved her family and friends and always chose to see the goodness in people.
Family and friends will celebrate Rosemary’s life during visitation hours on January 13, 2016 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Forrest Lawn North Funeral Home, 200 W. Copans Road in Pompano Beach, Florida. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on January 14, 2016 at Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church, 731 N. Ocean Blvd, Pompano Beach, Florida. A memorial service and inurnment for family and friends in CT will be scheduled for the spring timeframe of the coming year at Mount Saint Peter Catholic Cemetery, 219 New Haven Avenue, Derby, CT.
