COONS, Regina K. 92 of Pompano Beach passed away Oct. 6, 2013. She was born in Stamford, CT. She was Lieutenant Commander in the Navy Nurse Corp for 20 yrs, serving in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. She later worked for the Community Care for the Eldery in Ft. Lauderdale. She was a member of the Pompano Beach Women's Club and was past president of the Ft. Lauderdale Women's Club. Survived by her sister in law Ruth K. Coons, three nieces and one nephew. A Memorial Mass will be said 10 am on Friday, Oct. 11th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Pompano Beach. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
