Vinita (Nita) Runstrom Williams, 95, from Coconut Creek, FL was called to her eternal home on Friday, September 9, 2016. Nita was born on March 3, 1921 to Albin Leonard Runstrom and Fannie Holmgren Runstrom in Fort Worth, Texas, but moved to Wisconsin as a young child. Nita grew up in Wisconsin and was married there to Chadbourne Henrizi Williams on October 19, 1946. They had five children. Nita worked in the banking industry and retired in 1986 after many years of dedicated service as a bank Operations Officer from First Union National Bank.
Nita had a passion for service to others, and gave selflessly of her time and talents in countless capacities. Nita gave from her heart and wanted no fanfare for her service, often working in the quiet spaces behind the scenes in order to keep everything running smoothly for others. Nita had a very sharp wit, and spoke her mind freely. She loved crossword puzzles and word games, excelling at both, and generally proving to be a formidable opponent to even the sharpest of her grandchildren. She deeply loved her family and her church, and instilled in her five children the enduring values of a strong work ethic, integrity, and the love of God.
Nita is predeceased by her husband Chad, her brother John Henry Runstrom, and her grandson Aaron Matthew Brunsch. Survivors include her five children and their respective spouses: Jeffrey Williams (Mary Beth Horn), Jennifer Daniels (Bud Daniels), Julie Brunsch (Robin Brunsch), Judy Willis (Randy Willis), and Joanne Avis (Russell Avis). Nita is also survived by six grandchildren: Michelle Gaeta, Eric Daniels, Brian Willis, Lisa Venter, Scott Wilson, Brenda Petty, and Jonathan Daniels as well as five great-grandchildren: Matthew Santiago, Mia Venter, Mason Santiago, Aiden Petty, and James Daniels.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3901 NE 22 Avenue, Lighthouse Point, FL, 33064. Pastor Gabriel Wright will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent in honor of Nita and her deep devotion to her church to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3901 NE 22 Avenue, Lighthouse Point, FL, 33064.
