Mary Lou Guarnieri

Mrs. Mary Louise Guarnieri (aka Mary Lou) formerly of Stamford, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023 in Coral Springs, Florida at the age of 85 and has joined her husband in heaven. Mary Lou is survived by her children, Michael (married to Michelle) and Robert (Bob, married to Trisha) and her four grandchildren Jennifer, Melissa, Robert and Richard as well as Great Grandchildren (Jenna and Ryan). Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband Michael A. Guarnieri, as well as her sisters Janet and Sally.

Mary Lou was born on April 21, 1938 in Queens, NY to the late William and Mary Winter. She attended Mother of God Academy in Stamford CT and worked in the library at Stamford High School during her children’s formative school years, followed by administrative director for Cypress Creek Church when she lived in Florida.

Mary Lou met the love of her life, Michael Guarnieri, at a St Patrick’s Day Dance and they later married in May of 1958 at St John’s Catholic Church. They made a beautiful life for their family, and two boys in Stamford, surrounded by many extended family members and friends - until 1987 when they moved to their retirement home in Florida. Her children remember her as a cheerful, fun mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals while attending their baseball games.

Mary Lou was a dedicated and supportive spouse to her husband and loving mother to her sons – she was the kind of person that would help any family or friend in need. Mary Lou was loved by all who knew her.

A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday November 17, 2023, at Kraeer Funeral Home in Pompano Beach, Florida. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary Lou’s life.
